While I didn't personally know David, my wife, Cicley Sullivan was heartbroken to hear he passed away. She told me he was special and an asset to the entire Aldersgate family. He will be greatly missed, but always remembered for his impact on the Sullivan family.
Condolence: It is with great sadness that I offer these condolences to David's family. I have had the pleasure of working with David for the past three years as UNC Charlotte worked hand in hand with David and the Aldersgate family implementing the Summer Reading Camp for over 60, 7 and 8 year olds who have had the privilege of attending Summer Reading Camp on the Aldersgate Campus.
David High was our "go to" guy who always got things done and did so with a smile and a positive attitude. I was with him about two weeks ago in the new additional buildings and David was so proud of the beautiful additions being made to the facilities.
David never met a stranger and always made the time to talk to the residents in a genuine manner that made them feel listened to and appreciated.
David High was truly the "Mayor of Aldersgate" and will be missed by many. May he rest in peace.
Condolence: I am just hearing about Dave’s passing because I have been away. So sorry to have missed his service. I knew Dave for close to 30 years, first at the Masonic Home of NY in Utica, and we reconnected since we both have lived in Charlotte. We just had lunch together two months ago so he could show me the new projects at Aldersgate that he took great pride in. I know everyone at Aldersgate will sorely miss him. It was apparent as we toured how much the residents and staff cared about him. His life was too short, but he did so much to touch others.
Condolence: Our hearts are so saddened and still in such disbelief of David's sudden passing. He did indeed light up a room and was loved by all. We have many fond, fun memories that we will always cherish. He touched so many lives and will be missed by all. Lori, you and your family are in our hearts and prayers.
Condolence: Lori and family the profoundly sad news of Dave's passing has taken a piece of our hearts. There are very few people that leave such a wonderful impact in life as Dave did. He was part of our life since our children were toddlers. Our entire family had the distinct privilege of having Dave in our lives. Al has lost his longtime best friend, and we as well have a sad void in our lives. You are so blessed to be the love of his life. We love you and are here for whatever you need.
Condolence: Lori, I cannot tell you how I hurt for you. I had the pleasure of once a week hearing of your trips and adventures. I knew him for 9 1/2 years. He was always quick to help with our problems. May God wrap his arms around you and your family.
Condolence: David and I connected a couple times a year and he was always gracious with his busy schedule to update me on Aldersgate happenings and tour me through new projects. i can only imagine the loss to his family and to Aldersgate of such a bright light. My heart goes out to you.
Condolence: Heavenly Father please give Lori and family strength and healing, thank you for allowing me to have the honor of knowing such amazing caring and supportive man. 8 years you have been a blessing with encouragement, smiles caring and loving heart. You will be truly miss.
Condolence: The shock of David's passing profoundly saddened me. I had the had pleasure of knowing and respecting him professionally through the Aldersgate family and altruistically, as a member of WIE Men's Champions.
It was clear that he wanted to make a positive difference in this world and it is apparent through his actions and the sheer number of people moved by his passing that he did just that, he will be miss by so many. Holding you all in our hearts and prayers.
Condolence: To Lori & Family....My deepest condolences to you, your family and to all that are grieving. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. I am still in shock. Lori, Dave LOVED you and he will be looking over you and the family. I know you will miss him and so will I; I will keep you and your family in the thoughts and prayers....
