Lewis Link Kelly Sr., 67 of Charlotte, NC transitioned into Glory on Monday, July 22nd, 2019 11pm surrounded by loved ones at Moses Cones Hospital of Greensboro, NC. God called his fight finished after a long, tough battle with multiple medical complications.

Lewis was born November 21st, 1951 in Lancaster, Kentucky of the late AZ Kelly and Lucille Muncy. He is survived by his soulmate of 42 years, Joice; 3 children - Genia, Lewis Jr “Link”, and Sarah; 2 grandchildren - Lucas and Lauren; 1 great-grandson Magnus. He is also survived by his siblings - Jack, Gilbert, Larry and Martha. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by 1 son - Jeffery Sebastian; 2 siblings - Don and Riley.

Lewis is a proud veteran of the U.S. Army and served between 1968-1971 repairing and building army motor vehicles. Lewis graduated from Garrard County High School in 1969 and graduated from Kentucky College of Business in 1977 with a Business Administration Degree. He then started his journey with IBM shortly after and worked his way up different roles in management. He dedicated over 35 years of work with IBM.

Lewis got married to his wife, Joice, in October of 1976. Lewis served actively in Central Church of God for over 20 years, ushering almost every Sunday. He was a lifelong Kentucky Wildcats fan, lover of supreme pizza, lasagna, and a good cup of coffee.. Every time it was sunny outside, you could find Lewis outside messing in the yard or washing the cars. After the day was over, he had “his recliner” watching episodes of Family Feud, Madam Secretary or a “good ole” Western or War Movie.

Visitation and Funeral will be at Central Church of God, 5301 Sardis Rd. Charlotte, NC 28270, Thursday, July 25th, 2019 at 1pm. We want to express our appreciation for all the love, support, and prayers we’ve received. We are comforted in knowing Lewis is home with Jesus - happy, healthy, and definitely landscaping heaven in preparation for when we see him again. Well done, Lewis.
“Remember, wherever you go - that’s where you are.” ~ Lewis Link Kelly Sr.

Lewis was the man who made memories of good times, hard work, love for his family and devotion to his Lord. He made the world a better place because he lived. His beautiful smile showed the joy in his spirit. He was my brother in law for 48 years but will be in our hearts forever.
Always, Deborah Kelly
