Samuel Robert Musto

July 2, 1941 ~ October 25, 2019 (age 78)

Obituary

Sam Musto, devoted husband, father and grandfather passed into the hands of the Lord on Friday, October 25.

Born on July 2, 1941 to loving parents Carmine and Laura, Sam grew up in Brooklyn NY in a family and community whose values for family bonds, personal integrity and caring for one another were paramount and became the basis of how he lived his life. He summed it up by the motto “Do the Right Thing.” He passed his credo down to his younger brother and ultimately to his children and grandchildren by the example he set for them.

Growing up Sam was an avid fan of the Brooklyn Dodgers (and played an exhibition game in Ebbits Field), and in later years rooted for his NY Mets and Jets.

Thirty-four years ago Sam met Jeanne Anderson, the love of his life. They married and settled into their new home in Charlotte, NC where they raised their young family. They cherished each day they shared together and was truly the best years of their lives, touching those around them through their love and affection.

Sam had a big heart and was the ultimate giver of love to his family and that love was returned unconditionally. He left this earthly life surrounded by all those he loved: his wife, children, grandchildren, brother, and relatives gathered in a room filled with love and thanks to the Lord for sharing this beautiful man with us. Sam is now at peace in the House of the Lord and there is a new angel in Heaven.

Sam, until we meet again we will continue to follow your example of how to live a good life and to always “Do the Right Thing.”

Sam is survived by his devoted wife Jeanne, son Stephen Anderson (wife Kristie), and daughter Lori Fink; grandchildren Cade Crede, Mason Fink, Emma Anderson, Lilia Anderson; brother Anthony Musto (wife Ellen), niece Alyssa Musto and nephew Evan Musto; Sister-in-law Frieda Morris (Ed), Shirley Satterfield, Dot Pannell, Brother-in-law Hal Singletary, Bud Moose and countless, nephews, nieces, cousins.  Sam loved his sweet companion dog, Max who will miss him dearly.
