Ardith Jean Brown

July 17, 1927- November 23, 2018 Our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother went home to be with the Lord on November 23, 2018. She was born and raised in rural North Jackson, PA in the same farmhouse as her father and grandfather. As a young woman, she left for the bright lights of NYC to work for IBM and study voice. Her wonderful voice will be remembered by all who heard her in community theater, concerts, the church choir or even standing next to her in church. Ardith selflessly gave up a brilliant singing career to raise her five children. Much of the rest of her life was devoted to enjoying gardening, painting, and church activities. She lived in Susquehanna, PA; Binghamton, NY; NYC; Endicott, NY; Stamford, CT; Kingston, NY and Tampa, FL. Her devotion to her family brought her to Charlotte, NC, 30 years ago. Her sense of style and beauty was evident to all who met her. Ardith's unwavering faith and love for our Lord is her greatest legacy. She is in our Savior's presence and the knowledge that we will all be reunited in Heaven gives peace to our family. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Sharon Zioncheck. Those left to cherish her memory are daughter, Dale Ludwick of Charlotte; and sons Dr. Roger (Jennie) Zioncheck of Pittsburgh, PA; Richard (Patricia) Zioncheck of Clover, SC; Dr. Thomas (Kim) Zioncheck of Montara, CA. Grandchildren are Kaitlin (RJ) Sweeney and Cameron Simmons; Maja Zioncheck and Nick Zioncheck; Ashley (Shaun) Aukamp and Kristen (Josh) Clark; Andrew Zioncheck and Zachary Zioncheck and great grand-daughter Mackenzie Aukamp as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. A celebration of Ardith's life will be held on Saturday, December 1, 2018 at Calvary Church Chapel, 5801 Pineville-Matthews Road. Visitation will be at 10 am with the service following at 11 am.
