Gail Johnson

Belinda Garland Johnson, 70, went to be with the Lord on January 4, 2022. She was better known as Gail to those who loved her. Gail leaves behind her husband and love of her life of 39 years Ed; children Natalie Buie (Charles), Tommy Long, Amy Adams (Russ), Michael Johnson (Tiffany), her grandchildren Daniel Simpson, Ryan Cummins, Savannah Johnson, Zane Cummins, Haley Johnson, Nara Adams, Sawyer Buie, Chloe Adams, and Madison Johnson.

Gail was born to Hazel and Lucille Garland in 1951 in Mint Hill, NC. She was a graduate from Independence High School class of 1969. Gail went to work at the Army District Recruiting Command. Ed was working in Statesville at the time as a Army recruiter. This is where she met her husband Ed.

Gail and Ed were members at Garr Memorial. They made friends that have lasted a lifetime and most importantly this is the place where their faith blossomed together. Gail loved to sing in the choir, she did so while she attended Garr and then later at Central Church of God. She was involved as an assistant with the Precepts classes in which Ed was the teacher.

Gail was a hard working lady who loved the Lord. She had many great jobs throughout her working career. The one that was closest to her heart was being an administrative assistant to Pastor Joe Mullis at Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church in Mint Hill, NC.

A graveside service is scheduled for Friday January 7, 2022 at 3:00 pm at Sunset Memory Gardens. A celebration of life service is being planned. The time and date will be announced soon.

Ed, I am so sorry to hear of Gail's passing. She was the reason I worked at the DRC in Charlotte. She was such a special friend of mine when I worked there. I always enjoyed seeing you and her singing in the choir at Central. You are in my prayers.
