Betty Cook Braswell

January 9, 1930 — May 26, 2022

Betty Cook Braswell went home to be with the Lord on May 26, 2022.

 

She was born January 9th, 1930, in Danville Virginia to the late Ethel McCorkle and Robert Lee Cook. 

 

Betty was the most loving, compassionate, and giving person anyone could meet. She never met a stranger and made everyone feel welcomed when they walked in the room. 

 

In addition to her parents, Betty was proceeded in death by her husband, Bill Braswell; son, Bobby Braswell and infant sons Jerry, Wayne and Butch. She was also proceeded by four sisters:, Geraldine Cook, Lucy Sisk, Margie Shaw and Juanita Godfrey. 

 

Betty is survived by sister, Nancy Manus; brother, Robert Cook; children, Bill Braswell and spouse Jan, Ramona (Sissy) Starnes and spouse, Roger, Joyce Mills  and spouse David, Paul Braswell and spouse, Teresa. She had seventeen grandchildren and twenty-nine great-grandchildren that she loved dearly. 

Betty was the matriarch of the family, and her legacy will continue. 

Graveside services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 30, 2022 at Waxhaw Baptitst Church Cemetery, 8213 Old Waxhaw-Monroe Road, Waxhaw, NC 28173. The family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. until 4:30 p.m. Sunday, May 29, 2022 at Gaskin Funeral Services, 14617 Lawyers Road, Matthews, NC 28104.
