Buddy Gaston

December 11, 1934 — December 31, 2017

"And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men". So Buddy did, and he became a living example of faith in action. William "Buddy" Clinton Gaston, the son of the late Harrison Gaston and Opal Parks Gaston, was born December 11, 1934, in College Park, Georgia. Surrounded by his loving family, he fittingly was received home by his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on the Lord's Day, December 31, 2017. Buddy, in addition to his parents, is preceded in death by his daughter, Lisa Turbyfill. He, and his loving and devoted wife, Margaret, an inseparable pair for 63 years, was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Mint Hill. Buddy loved his church family and looked forward to every opportunity to be with them. However, he had a passion for soul winning above everything and that drive over the years has added countless souls to The Kingdom than will never be calculated this side of Heaven. For 65 years, Buddy was in the upholstery industry. He will be remembered over the last 20 plus years as owner and operator of Gaston Upholstery. When not working, Buddy enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing at the beach, gardening, and golfing. In addition to Margaret, his immediate family includes his sons, Rick, Steve, and Rodney; his sister, Darlene Wildman; and 12 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. The family will gather at 10:30 AM Wednesday, January 3, 2018, at Faith Baptist Church, 6840 Wilson Grove Rd. Mint Hill, NC 28227, to greet friends. A service in celebration of Buddy's life will begin at noon. Burial will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens on Lawyers Rd. Gaskin Funeral Services, Matthews, is serving the family. -
