Daniel Richard Boone

MATTHEWS - Mr. Daniel Richard Boone, 82, passed away Thursday, July 21, 2022 at Novant Health Medical Center Matthews.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 26, 2022 at Gaskin Funeral Services, 14617 Lawyers Road, Matthews, NC. Interment will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens, 8901 Lawyers Road in Mint Hill.

Daniel was born July 28, 1939 in York County, SC and was the son of the late, Curtis and Elizabeth Brazil Boone. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Richard Boone and brother, Melvin.

Daniel was the greatest husband, daddy, paw paw and great-grand daddy in the world. He was greatly loved by his five children, 7 grandkids and 7 great-grand-babies. He loved his family with all his heart and made sure they all knew it. Daniel had a special place in his heart for the babies and his face would light up when they sat on his lap. He was a master carpenter but could do most anything he set his mind to do. Daniel was a strong yet most gentle man. His radiant smile, beautiful blue eyes and infectious laugh made it impossible not to love him.

Some words his children used to describe their sweet daddy were intelligent, respectful, kind, funny, honest, fair, generous and strong. He loved the Lord, old country and gospel music and good food.

Daniel is survived by his wife, Patsy; son, Kenneth Boone; daughters, Glenda Dalgleish and husband, Jim, Loretta Helms and husband, Frank and Patricia Thompson and husband, Ronny; 7 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
