Clyde David Kiker

MINT HILL - Mr. Clyde David Kiker, 88, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, April 27, 2023.

A memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, May 4, 2023 at Gaskin Funeral Services, 14617 Lawyers Road, Matthews, NC. The family will receive friends following the service.
Mr. Kiker was born August 2, 1934 in Union County, NC and was the son of the late Walter Richard and Flossie Scott Kiker. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by wives, Carolyn Boyte Kiker and Carolyn Durham Kiker and siblings, Bob Kiker ( Martha ) and Ray Kiker.

Mr. Kiker was a graduate of Central High School in Charlotte, NC and a United States Air Force Vietnam Veteran, having proudly served his country for 22 years. While in service, he was the recipient of a Bronze Star. Mr. Kiker was a member of Hickory Grove United Methodist Church and The United Methodist Men.

He is survived by his siblings, Carl Kiker ( Pat ), Peggy Morrow, and Kevin Kiker ( Wendy ); children, Dawn Padgett, C. David Kiker, II
( Crystal ), Tracy Gillis ( Brian ), Carol Smith ( Mace ) and Alexander Kiker ( Stacey ); 16 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom he loved very much.
The family would especially like to thank Paula Black who lovingly cared for Mr. Kiker for the past nine years.
