Gary Michael Wiley

Gary Michael Wiley, born on March 14, 1950, in Charlotte, NC, passed away on April 18, 2024, in the comfort of his home surrounded by family. To know Gary was to love him - a man described by many as passionate, determined, considerate, devoted, hardworking, dependable, joyful, generous, selfless, kind, loyal, amazing and humble.

Gary's life was enriched by his love for sports, with a particular passion for golf. Larkhaven Golf Club held some of his fondest memories; he cherished the friendships made on the course and considered them priceless. However, above all else stood his dear wife Wanda, who remained his number one through 54 years of marriage.

In this time of mourning, we remember and celebrate the life of Gary Michael Wiley. He is reunited in peace with his parents Bill and Judy Wiley and his brother Vernon Wiley. Gary leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion.

Surviving him are his beloved wife of 54 years and high school sweetheart Wanda Wiley; their children Kim Faulkner (Tony), Jamie Wiley (Amy), Jason Wiley; his sister Judy Ann McWhirter; grandchildren Drew (Zoey), Trent (Ashley) and Grace Faulkner, Tyler and Peyton Wiley, Daygen Marsian, Cooper and Maisy Wiley; along with many other relatives and friends whose lives he touched with his kindness and humility.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday April 21, 2024 at 2:00pm at Gaskin Funeral Services located at 14617 W. Lawyers Road. Matthews, NC. There will be a gathering of friends and family following the service. 

The family request that in lieu of flowers donations be made to Levine Cancer Institution in memory of Gary Wiley.

Gary's impact on those around him will always be remembered. His unwavering love for his family and friends remains etched in their hearts forever. May he rest in eternal peace, knowing that he was deeply loved and will be dearly missed.
