Hartford Jones

Hartford Jones, 85, son of the late Bracey Jones and Gladys Locklear was born September 20, 1937, in Pembroke, NC and departed this life on May 16, 2023, at Autumn Care of Marshville. 

Hartford was a devoted man of God. He enjoyed collecting and reading his bibles. Mr. Jones had a passion for music, loved playing his collection of Guitar’s, fishing, and spending time with family, friends and loved ones.   He started and ran his own business, Jones Drywall for 50 years in Charlotte, NC. Retired and moved to Ocean Isle Beach and lived there for 15 years. 

His passing is preceded in death by his wife Floretta Jones, sister Vera Locklear and two great grandchildren Zahir and Zara Jones. Survived by his sister Catherin Smith, Brother-in-law Billie Locklear, Son Gregory Jones, daughter Tanya (Dale) Mackey. Grandchildren; Dalton Mackey, Avery Mackey, Dylan Mackey, Trent (Taylor) Jones, JoAnna Jones, and Joseph (Aaliyah) Jones. One great grandchild Hayden Jones.  Join Hartford’s family for a homegoing service on June 17th, at Lighthouse Family church, 2028 Wesley Chapel Rd, Indian a trail, NC 28079 on Saturday, June 17, 2023, at 1 pm.
