John Ernest Ferree

John Ernest Ferree, Jr, 98, of Charlotte, went home to be with the Lord on October 26, 2021. John was born on December 4, 1922, to Ernest and Gracie Ferree in Shelby, North Carolina. John is preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Margaret Ferree, and his son Johnny. He leaves behind his two children Kevin Ferree and Patty Paquin, 7 grandchildren, and 7 great children all of who he loved dearly.
John proudly served during World War II in the U.S. Army Corps. After the war, John went to work with the U.S. Postal Service, where he retired after a 25-year career. He was a proud member of the North Carolina Civil Air Patrol. John enjoyed being a member of Central Church. He was an active member who spent Sundays serving as an usher. John was known for his kind and gentle spirit. He was beloved and will be missed by many.
