Jonee Kimrey Aikens

Mrs. Aikens, 91, of Matthews, died Sunday, April 24, 2016, at Carrington Place Born July 1, 1924, in Mill Springs, NC, she was the daughter of the late Dewey Vance Kimrey and Mary Clyde Kimrey. She was preceded in death by her husband of nearly 70 years, the late Mervin "Bucky" Aikens. Her survivors include three children, Ronnie Aikens and wife, Christine, Karen Thompson and husband, Steve, and Vince Aikens; 9 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and 2 great, great grandchildren. She was employed at Carolina Virginia Fashion Exhibitors for over 40 years. She enjoyed her time there and the many friends she had made. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Camp Lurecrest Ministries or Hospice and Palliative Care-Charlotte Region. -
