Ken Syfert

Kenneth Blaine Syfert, born February 3, 1947, went home to be with Jesus, his Lord and Savior on October 12, 2015. He was preceded in death by his father Gene Syfert and daughter Stacy. He is survived by Carol, his wife of almost 41 years, his sons Shad Michael Syfert (Sylvia) of St. Louis, Missouri, Kenneth Blaine Syfert, ll and his wife, Emese of Charlotte, NC and daughter Jenny Schafer of Minnesota. Also, his precious grandchildren, Joshua Shad (12), Caleb Michael (9), Spencer Blaine (7), Emma Rose (6), and Reese Christian (3), mother, Betty Jean Syfert of Pharr, Texas, brother Gene Syfert (Debbie) of Midwest City, Oklahoma, Tim Syfert of Wyoming, Michigan, nieces and nephews, Emily Snyder, Sean Syfert, Mindy Biedrzycki, Terri Grote, Tim Grote and Ryan Grote. Ken was a loving husband, family man and good friend to many. Being the son of an Air Force colonel, he lived in various places all over the world which expanded his love for learning and gave him an understanding of various cultures. This translated into sharing his love of traveling with his family. He was always supportive and encouraging of the endeavors of his children. Leaving a wonderful legacy, this proud papa was always rooting for his sons and grandchildren to love life and live it to the fullest. Ken was a member of Central Church, Charlotte, North Carolina for 21 years. He served willingly and selflessly, leading youth group, teaching younger children, serving in the kitchen ministry and going on mission trips. Ken loved making origami frogs, sending homemade cards to many and blessing others with his terrific sense of humor! He will be terribly missed and held forever in our hearts. -
