Neil Arch Biggs Jr.

January 1, 1926 — December 19, 2020

Neil Biggs 94, of Charlotte went to be with his Savior, Jesus Christ on Dec. 19, 2020. He will be joyfully reunited with Dorothy Stiles Biggs, his wife of 56 years. Neil’s life centered around faith, family, and career. He was a founding member of Westminster Presbyterian Church and a current member of Central Church of God.

Finding a camera in a pawn shop at age 13 led Neil to his life long career as a photographer & businessman. He was a photographer at the Army Quartermaster during WWII. After that he was staff photographer for Exxon Oil for several decades. In 1959 Neil opened Hi-Fi Camera Center in the Charlottetown Mall, currently called Biggs Camera. Neil retired at age 92. Mr. Biggs was active in Charlotte’s Full Gospel Businessmen, church leadership as a Deacon, and Elder & youth leader. Neil was also a member of Singing Men of America, a men’s patriotic choral group.

Neil recently resided at Brookdale South Charlotte where he had many friends including residents and care givers. He was active in chorus, many activities, and was greatly loved there by all. Special thanks to ColineMassey, and Sue Sprouse.

Immediate family include daughter, Cathi Carter (David), sons, Stephen Biggs (Nancy), Wayne Biggs (Debbie), Mark Biggs (Kim). He was a loving grandfather to 7 grandchildren, Neil Carter, Scott Carter, Alexander Biggs, Ian Biggs, Graham Biggs, Christopher Biggs, and Kristin Biggs, plus 4 greatgrandchildren.

No services are planed at this time. A memorial service will be held next summer. The family asks that any memorials be made to Central Church of God or The Salvation Army. The family also wishes to express gratitude to Charlotte Hospice & Palliative Care. Also, special thoughts to his Hospice nurse Beanie.
