October 6, 1941 — August 9, 2017

Ruby Scott of Crestview, Florida left for her heavenly home August 8, 2017. The family will have a private Memorial Sunday, August 13th in Matthews, NC. Mrs. Scott was born October 6, 1941 in Orlando, Florida. She was the daughter of the late Robert and Marie Read. Mrs. Scott and her late husband, Keith K. Scott raised their three children in the Matthews area before retiring to Florida. Prior to retirement, Mrs. Scott worked as a manager for Waccamaw Pottery and Dollar General. Her children state that she never met a stranger. She would frequently stop people to compliment them on their dress or their smile and would then talk with them for a while. She shared her love for the Lord through her smile and caring nature. She often expressed to her friends and family how much she was blessed in life. Mrs. Scott enjoyed being with her family and reminiscing. She was also an avid game show watcher and loved to read. Mrs. Scott enjoyed the companionship of animals and cared for several little dogs throughout the years. She is survived by her sister Mona Evans of Havana, Florida: her children Pamela Spivey (and husband Stowe) of Kings Mountain, N.C. Keith Scott of Crestview, Florida and Teresa Olstad (and husband David) of Matthews, N.C.; her grandchildren, David Olstad, Jr. (and wife Melanie) Kyle Spivey, Jeff Scott, Zachary Scott, and Robyn Olstad and great grandchildren Rebekah Olstad and David Olstad, III.
