Obituary:

Sandra Lynn Fisher, known lovingly as Sandy, was born on August 8th, 1960 in Woodbury, New Jersey to Everett Thompson and Jane Myers. She passed away on May 8th, 2024, in Charlotte, NC surrounded by her loving family.

Sandy led a remarkable life filled with passion and dedication. She earned a Bachelor's degree in Fashion Merchandising from the University Delaware and the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York. Before starting a family, Sandy embarked on a successful career as a furniture buyer for Jordan Marsh, where she traveled to furniture shows as far as Italy. Later on, she transitioned to becoming a buyer for a toy store in Massachusetts, all while developing her deep love for children's literature. Sandy touched many lives during her 13-year tenure as a teacher at Carmel Baptist's Wee School and as an art teacher at the preschool at Central Church of God. Her brilliance shone through in her ability to see the potential in all her students and cater to their individual learning styles.

Sandy was known for her kindness, humor, and unwavering passion. She poured her heart into everything she did, whether it was spending hours making homemade ornaments for Christmas or staying after hours at the Wee School to develop elaborate lesson plans and projects. Her selflessness and love for others were evident in every aspect of her life.

In addition to her successful career and dedication to teaching, Sandy took great pride in loving her husband Randy and her children, Matthew and Melissa. She dedicated her life to nurturing the talents of her children and watched with joy as they flourished into remarkable individuals.

In her free time, Sandy cherished moments spent capturing the beauty around her through photography, particularly during annual family vacations to Kiawah Island. Kiawah was Sandy's place of peace and rest, and she would spend her days at Kiawah following birds through the marshes and camping out at the inlet to get the perfect shot of the dolphins coming up to feed on the shore.

Sandy had been battling ovarian cancer since August 2021, showing immense strength throughout her journey. Despite the challenges she faced, Sandy maintained her spirit until the very end and fought with incredible grace and optimism.

Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know and love her.

Rest in peace, dear Sandy. Your legacy of love, kindness, and unwavering commitment will live on and will continue to inspire generations to come.
