Ted A. Hilbert

January 8, 1949 — July 5, 2018

Theodore (Ted) Alan Hilbert, 69, of Matthews, North Carolina, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, early Thursday morning, July 5, 2018. Ted was born and raised in Reading and Warminster Pennsylvania. He was the son of the late Warren F. Hilbert and Agnes V. Hilbert. He has lived in the Charlotte, North Carolina, area for more than 30 years. He is survived by his wife Mary ann J. Hilbert; sons, Mark A. Hilbert and wife, Kathy, of Raleigh, North Carolina, and Christopher L. Hilbert of Wilmington, North Carolina; his brother, Timothy L. Hilbert of Middleburg, Virginia, and wife, Eileen; and 4 grandchildren, Mason A. Hilbert, Avery D. Hilbert, Cooper L. Hilbert, Elizabeth M. Hilbert. Also, included in the family, Nicholas Choate and wife, Maria, and daughters, Alexandra and Alyssa. Ted served in the US Navy. He also served as an usher at Central Church of God where he had been a member since 1983. Ted had over a 30 year career with Allnex coatings and Reichold Chemicals in heading national/global sales. During his life, he most valued helping his family, grandchildren and friends. He was very proud of them and loved talking about his grandchildren. Ted really enjoyed sports, including the Carolina Panthers, and especially going to the Charlotte Hornets games since the original 1988 season. Ted will always be remembered as loving husband, father, grandfather, friend, and a good Christian man. Services will be held on Tuesday, July 10, 2018, at Central Church of God, 5301 Sardis Rd., Charlotte, North Carolina, 28270. Visitation will begin at 12:00 PM, followed by the funeral service at 1:00 PM in the Sanctuary. - -
